![]() Dianal America, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Rayon Co. Ltd. (MRC). Mitsubishi Rayon was established in 1933 as a manufacturer of rayon staple. Today, the Mitsubishi Rayon Group has built itself into a leading manufacturer of polymer products, based on two core segments - the MMA (methyl methacrylate) and the AN (acrylonitrile) business complexes. As a member of the Mitsubishi Rayon MMA Business Complex, Dianal produces coating resins that add value to the inherent properties of objects made from metals, plastics and paper. Dianal products are based on acrylic, methacrylic and styrenic monomers. Dianal coating materials have taken the largest market share in automotive topcoats and repair finishes, which require excellent appearance, durability, and resistance to chipping and acid rain. Increasingly, Dianal resins are being used in hot melt, reactive hot melt and anaerobic adhesives. Dianal resins are also used to improve gloss and adhesion in inks and lacquers. Demand for DIANAL LP-series resins, an environment-friendly acrylic powder used to replace PVC in plastisol products, is growing rapidly in automotive applications such as undercoatings and body sealers because it not only imposes a smaller environment load than comparable materials, but it also can form films at low temperatures. DIANAL FB-series products are styrene-acrylic copolymers for toner binders in copiers and printers. Dianal has a wide variety of resins which are manufactured both in the USA and Japan using the suspension polymerization method. In the rapidly growing field of polyester resins for toners, Dianal is a major player with its DIACRON line of polyester resin. This product line provides outstanding low-temperature fusing and durability and is available as cross-linked and linear polyester resins. ACRYSIRUP is a reactive resins system, which consists mainly of methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer, acrylic polymers, and mineral fillers and pigments, giving the desired finish. When the system is applied, hardeners and catalysts are added that cure the coating by radical polymerization. Because ACRYSIRUP contains multifunctional monomers, the cured films are very tough and have excellent physical performance. |
